FOX’s Tuesday night comedy’s return! “New Girl” and we meet the new kids on the block, “Ben and Kate” and “Mindy”

I can’t even begin to explain to you guys how excited I am that New Girl is returning tonight! We get not 1 BUT 2 new episodes. It’s one of the funniest sitcoms out there. It’s no surprise that it was one of the breakout series last fall.

FOX”s night kicks off with the new season of New Girl with an episode called “Re-Launch” Jess gets fired from her teaching job: Jess is laid off from her teaching job and volunteers to be a shot girl at Schmidt’s “rebranding” party in the Season 2 opener. Also: Cece introduces the gang to her new beau; and Winston shows a different side of his personality after drinking some of Nicky’s fruity concoctions. Parker Posey guest stars as a jaded cocktail waitress.

Ben and Kate is one of the newbie’s. I’ve already seen the pilot and this one couldn’t hold my attention. You have a brother and sister combo, where the brother is broke, homeless and an idiot. The sister is a responsible single mother trying to raise her daughter and date a cheating douche bag. Frankly, I’m just bored of these story lines. But, there’s a cute little girl involved and so that has to be a formula for success, right? Time will tell with this one: Comedy series about Kate, a straitlaced single mom raising her young daughter with assistance from her new houseguest, older brother Ben, who’s a young-at-heart dreamer. In the opener, Kate prepares for a first date with help from a coworker, while Ben reunites with his childhood buddy, and together they try to stop Ben’s ex from getting married.

New Girl returns with the second episode in “Katie:” Jess pretends she’s someone else when a handsome stranger mistakes her for his blind date. Meanwhile, a patron at Nick’s bar claims to be Nick from the future, and Winston’s disapproving mother pays him a visit.

Mindy Kaling has left Scranton, PA and is now a slutty Ob-gyn in The Mindy Project. I’ve been excited for this and the pilot did not disappoint. Mindy was sarcastically charming, and funny. Plus they feature that kick ass MIA song “Bad Girls.” Ob-gyn Mindy Lahiri struggles to clean up the mess that is her personal life in the premiere of this sitcom, which begins with an unforgettable toast at her ex-boyfriend’s wedding that leads to an embarrassing brush with the law.
