Sadly, I didn’t go this year, but I was refreshing my twitter feed like crazy to get live blogging scoop on several shows.
Things of note (for me anyway) from the TV world:
It’s Red Dragon carnage time on Hannibal! Amazing sneak peek at the Red Dragon arc with Richard Armitage bringing it as Francis ‘The Tooth Fairy’ Dolarhyde. Rutina Wesley is also in as Reba McClane.
Meet the Green Arrow of Star City.
Stephen Amell pumped things up at the Arrow panel by giving an impassioned speech to Starling Star City (guess the city elders decided to rebrand the city in Season 4) while sporting an interesting new suit that’s lost the sleeved coat for gauntlets and cap sleeved armor.
Meet Damien Dahrk
Neal McDonough has been tapped as Arrow’s Season 4 Big Bad Damien Dahrk. A rival of the late Ra’s Al Ghul, Dahrk is just as ruthless and world domination minded and you couldn’t have picked a guy with a more sophisticated, worldly air of menace. Definitely can see him going toe-to-toe with Barrowman’s Malcolm Merlyn. Too bad Moria’s not on the scene as he could’ve also made a compelling friend/foe match with Mama Queen.
Hopefully this is just preliminary drawing as it looks like a rejected option of the ATOM suit. While they’re redesigning they need to also do one for Lyla. She’s more than proven herself an able back-up to Team Arrow. And she wouldn’t make a bad starter member to a Birds of Prey group if TPTB finally decided to go there.
Teddy Sears has been cast as Jay Garrick, The Flash of Earth -2. Remember that helmet that came flying out of the temporal disturbance and landed at Eobard’s feet? That was Jay’s. Jay is awesome. Nice that Barry gets to meet another, older, and hopefully wiser Speedster.
The Flash Season 2’s Big Bad is Zoom.
Not to be confused with the Reverse Flash. My money is on this being a time displaced, crazy from the time distortion, Eddie Thawne.
Heroes Reborn is not looking too shabby.
Once Upon A Time is bringing on (SPOILER) Merida from Brave. She definitely looks the part. But if I’m honest I’d rather see the Wonderland crew in full force pay a visit so Will Scarlett can be reunited with his Anastasia. (Yes, I watched Once…in Wonderland and loved it!)
Last, but not least, CW Seed has debuted the trailer for the animated series Vixen which follows Mari McCabe who is a superhero that uses the power of animals. It’s set in the Arrow and Flash verse with Amell and Gustin voicing their onscreen alter egos. On one hand, nice we get a superheroine of color, but I kinda wish it was a brainy scientist Karen Beecher who actually has a connection with Ray Palmer and could easily be an animated spin-off for Legends of Tomorrow.
Peter Facinelli rebounded quickly from American Odyssey’s cancellation by jumping aboard the superhero TV train as Maxwell Lord on Supergirl.
Juliette is most sincerely dead on Grimm. No word on Herr Meisner bringing Diana back to Adalind so they can be a happy little Hexenbeast family.
